Gaizka Larrazabal Undergoing Medical Ahead Of Signing With Real Zaragoza
Gaizka Larrazabal is leaving Athletic to sign with Real Zaragoza (AC)
Athletic’s plans for Gaizka Larrazabal haven’t changed. The club still intends to let the 22-year-old leave for free while retaining a buy-back clause. However, a move has yet to materialize. Several clubs, including Cadíz and Alavés, have shown interest in Larrazabal, but haven’t made any official offers.
Larrazabal wanted to continue in the Primera, but will instead move the Second Division. According to a report from Javier Beltrán of AS, Larrazabal is traveling to Zaragoza today to undergo a medical and sign with Real Zaragoza.
The young winger will be signing a three-year contract with Real Zaragoza where he is expected to have an important role in the team. As part of the deal, Athletic retain a buy-back option valued around €1 million.
Other Segunda sides such as Ponferradina, Rayo Vallecano and Mirandés were also in the running. However, Real Zaragoza made the most effort to bring the starlet to La Romareda and won the race. Gaizka Larrazabal will be presented as a Real Zaragoza player tomorrow.
