San Mamés VIP Ring Will Open For Athletic Fans To Watch Away Games

Athletic will open areas of San Mamés for fans to watch away games (AC)

When La Liga begins this weekend football stadiums will remain closed. In light of the ongoing pandemic fans will still not be allowed inside and games will be played behind closed doors. There is hope that things will improve soon, but until then Athletic plan to give fans another option to watch the Lions in action.

On Wednesday the club announced that the VIP ring at San Mamés will be opened for fans to watch Athletic’s away games. Fans can submit a form to reserve a table of between 2 and 10 people which includes paying for dining services.

In addition, Taberna La Campa de los Ingleses and San Mamés Jatetxea will also be opened. The club emphasized that all social distancing protocols will be enforced, including temperature checks and requiring that masks be worn by all in attendance.

The service starts this weekend with Athletic’s opening game of the season. Gaizka Garitano’s team travels to Granada on Friday night with hopes of securing all three points. Reservation forms are already available on the club’s official website.
