Jon Guruzeta And Alejandro Ibarrondo Named Most Outstanding Players For Juvenil A For The 2018/2019 Season

Peña Athletic Juvenil is the oldest Peña in the Basque Country and, since 1976, have recognized the two most outstanding players from the Juvenil A team on a yearly basis. Players such as Josu Urrutia, Markel Susaeta, Beñat, Iñaki Williams, and others have all received the honor and on Monday night Jon Guruzeta and Alejandro Ibarrondo were announced as the winners for the 2018/2019 season at a special ceremony.
Jon Guruzeta is a midfielder, and younger brother of Gorka Guruzeta, who was promoted over the summer to CD Basconia where has made 10 appearances so far this season. Guruzeta was given the La Furia award for a spectacular campaign with Juvenil A last year.
Alejandro Ibarrondo is a forward who scored six goals for Juvenil A last season and has been given the La Regularidad award for his consistent performances. Ibarrondo was also promoted to CD Basconia over the summer and has 8 appearances for the Basauritarras at this point in the campaign.
Guruzeta and Ibarrondo both have very bright futures ahead and being recognized as the most outstanding players for last year’s Juvenil A team is certainly an honor. Last year’s winners Oihan Sancet and Unai Vencedor are very close to earning permanent roles with the first team while several former recipients have established themselves as important players at San Mamés.
