Gaizka Larrazabal has left Athletic to sign with Real Zaragoza (AC)
Gaizka Larrazabal start a new stage of his football career. Following last season’s promotion to the Athletic first team, the 22-year-old has left the club to sign with Real Zaragoza on a free transfer. Athletic officially announced the move on Friday, with the final year of Larrazabal’s contract being mutually terminated.
As part of the agreement, Athletic retain a buy-back clause valid for the next two years. The club did not reveal the price of the clause, though sources in Bizkaia report that the fee is set at around €1 million.
Larrazabal completed his medical with Real Zaragoza on Thursday and already joined his new teammates in training earlier today. The son of Athletic legend, Aitor Larrazabal, aims to prove himself in the Segunda and possibly return to Athletic at some point in the near future.
