Alex Berenguer has signed with Athletic Club through 2024 (DM)
Alex Berenguer is finally an Athletic player. The Basque giants have followed the winger since his days at Osasuna and ramped up talks with Torino over the past week. With days left before the transfer window closes the two clubs reached an agreement on Friday.
Athletic officially announced the signing with the news that Berenguer has penned a contract through 2024. The 25-year-old is currently undergoing a medical in Bilbao.
According to a report from Javier Beltrán of AS, the transfer fee is €10 million with another €2 million in variables. However, the price was excluded from Athletic’s official announcement. Pending the medical, Alex Berenguer will join his teammates at Lezama very soon and hopes to earn a key role in Gaizka Garitano’s squad.
