Athletic Welcome New Youth Players With Ceremony At San Mamés

A new year of football begins at Lezama. It’s been several months since youth games were played, but a buzz of excitement fills the air as teams begin preseason training. Every young player dreams of reaching the first team and each season is another opportunity to move one step closer to that goal.
As usual, a number of new players have joined the Athletic academy for the upcoming season. On Saturday the club welcomed the arrivals and their parents with a special ceremony at San Mamés which also included a tour of the stadium. The next generation learned about Athletic’s unique values, the history of the club, and what to expect in the year ahead.
During the ceremony all necessary safety measures were followed, including social distancing and wearing masks. The players were separated by age and were instructed on guidelines that will be in place for the upcoming season.
