Bilbao Athletic returned to Lezama on Thursday to start preseason training (AC)

The short summer break has come to an end for Bilbao Athletic. Following the team’s impressive first year under manager Joseba Etxeberria, the Kumeak returned to Lezama on Thursday to officially begin preseason training.

Medical tests were performed in the morning with all players reporting to Lezama, followed by work on the field in the afternoon. Ander Iru, who is currently training with the first team, was the only absence and was replaced by Basconia goalkeeper Gorka Campo. Basconia midfielder Gorka Aguirre also joined the team for training, as will Ander Lorente and Jon Guruzeta.

With Bilbao Athletic starting preseason training the club also confirmed that the summer friendly schedule is almost complete. However, the matches won’t be official until the required sanitary approval is given.
