Dani Vivian Joins Mirandés On Loan For The 2020/2021 Season

Dani Vivian will spend the season on loan with Mirandés (AC)

One day after signing a new three-year contract with Athletic, Dani Vivian is on his way to Mirandés. The Segunda side had been in talks with Athletic over a loan deal for the young defender and an agreement has finally been reached. Athletic announced on Wednesday that Vivian will spend the upcoming season on at Anduva.

Signing a renewal was necessary before Vivian could leave on loan as the 21-year-old previously had just one year left on his contract. As one of the most promising young players at the club, Vivian has the quality and potential to become a star at San Mamés and the club wanted to ensure his future in Bilbao.

Spending the year with Mirandés will give Vivian the chance to play regular minutes in preparation for a possible first team role next season. His exit is also a sign that Unai Núñez will be staying at Athletic despite refusing to sign a new contract.

On another note, Mirandés may not be done fishing in the Lezama waters. The club has also been linked with moves for Jesús Areso and Gaizka Larrazabal following Iñigo Vicente’s excellent loan spell last season.
