Peru Nolaskoain Could Miss Start Of Preseason Training
Peru Nolaskoain’s excellent season on loan with Deportivo has the 21-year-old poised to challenge for a place in Athletic’s first team this summer. The departures of Mikel San José and Beñat have opened up space in the midfield and Nolaskoain is ready to take advantage of the opportunity. However, the starlet is now in danger of missing the start of preseason training.
Deportivo will be playing Fuenlabrada on Friday in the final game of the season and Nolaskoain has been ruled out for the match. The midfielder won’t play due to discomfort, although it’s unclear just what issue Nolaskoain is dealing with at the moment.
The fact that Deportivo have nothing to play for on Friday and have already been relegated could actually be the reason for Nolaskoain missing out. Deportivo may be choosing not to risk a loaned player and if that is the case then Nolaskoain would be expected to be available when Athletic report back to Lezama on time.
Athletic’s first teams players will undergo medicals starting on Monday will full training beginning on Thursday. By not playing in Deportivo’s last match of the season, Peru Nolaskoain’s loan has ended but it’s unclear if the possible injury will prevent him from being able to rejoin his teammates at Lezama next week.
