Basconia Sign Danok Bat Starlet Adrián Pérez
Athletic are always looking to add the best young players to Lezama, especially those from partner clubs throughout the area. Scouts keep a close eye on all promising players throughout the Basque Country and each summer a number of starlets are brought to Lezama with hopes of one day reaching the first team. Throughout the years Danok Bat have supplied several top players for the Zurigorri and have done so once again.
According to a report from Javier Beltrán of El Correo, Danok Bat center-back Adrián Pérez has signed with Basconia and will join the team before the start of next season. The son of former Athletic player Jon Andoni Pérez, also known as Bolo, Adrián Pérez has thoroughly impressed club scouts and will will be an exciting addition to the Basconia squad.
Pérez currently plays for Danok Bat’s Juvenil A team where he stands out for his size and strength in defense. Often compared to Athletic’s Unai Núñez, the 19-year-old is said to be great in individual challenges and possesses impressive quality on the ball for a defender along with the ability to pass out of the back and combine play.
The young defender has been one of Danok Bat’s most outstanding players this season, representing the Basque U18 team on occasion, and had several offers from other clubs. Ultimately, Pérez eagerly made the decision to join Athletic because he dreams of one day playing at San Mamés like his father and is ready to take his first steps as a professional footballer next season with Basconia.
Adrián Pérez will join an already impressive defensive group from Athletic Juvenil A which includes Adrián Trespalacios and Iker San Vicente. The trio will compete for minutes at Basconia next season under manager Patxi Salinas who spent 10 years playing center-back for Athletic.
