Aitor Seguin Weighing Up Offers To Leave On Loan In January
Just a few months ago Aitor Seguin was in danger of never playing football again. The Lezama product, once destined for stardom as a top youth players at the academy, suffered a torn ACL in April of 2016 and was never the same. After three years of setbacks and just 12 total appearances, the decision was made to undergo stem cell treatment in a final effort to save his career.
Seguin had stem cells injected into his right knee three months ago and the procedure was a success. The 24-year-old finally made his return to the field on 13 November in a friendly while playing with a combined team of Basconia and Juvenil A players. Since then the winger has been training normally with Bilbao Athletic, though he isn’t registered as part of the squad this season.
Athletic have been very supportive of Seguin throughout the entire process and even renewed his contract the past two years so that he could continue recovering and receiving medical treatment. Now, Seguin is ready to put the issue in the past and enjoy football once again.
According to a report from Javier Beltrán of El Correo, several clubs have expressed interest in signing Seguin on loan in January. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, Seguin is analyzing the offers patiently and is expected to accept one of them. Naturally, Aitor Seguin is looking to join a team that can guarantee regular playing time so that he can get back into the rhythm of football. The most important thing, however, is that it appears as though he will be able to continue his career.
