Gorka Guruzeta Expected To Make Return In Friendly Against Eibar
It’s been nearly six months since Gorka Guruzeta underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ACL but there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Recovery has gone extremely well for the young striker who worked very hard throughout the entire process and was recently able to return to normal training with his team. Now the 23-year-old is counting down the days until he can play once again.
Guruzeta’s will likely make his return to the pitch in just a few days with Juanma Velasco of Marca reporting that the Lezama product is expected to play in the team’s friendly against Eibar. The game will take place on 15 November at Lezama during the international break and will be held in private. If the striker does well and has no complications he would soon be cleared to compete in official matches.
Once Guruzeta is given the medical green light he will play his first minutes with Bilbao Athletic. It will be important for him to have regular opportunities in order to find his rhythm and best level which makes it very likely that he will be sent out on loan during the January transfer window. Looking ahead, Athletic believe that Gorka Guruzeta has the qualities to become an important player for the first team and will take the appropriate steps to ensure the striker returns to football in a safe and proper manner.
