Athletic will play their eighth game of the La Liga season on Saturday while also looking for the first win on the road. The Lions are coming off of a disappointing loss to Valencia and eager to quickly get back on the right track. Midfielder Dani García recently took the time to speak with Robert Basic of El Correo about the upcoming match and knows that it won’t be easy.

“I like to reflect on what has been done in previous matches and what needs to be improved”, García answered when asked how the team has handled the loss last weekend. “We know what kind of team Celta is and I already have in mind what their players like to do.”

Celta have had a poor start to the season and currently sit one point above the relegation zone. However, the Galicians have a very strong squad and plenty of attacking options. García doesn’t believe their results to this point reflect the quality in the team but says their lack of confidence could play a role in Sunday’s clash.

“Celta may not have started well but we are going into this game with the same approach as every other match. If you are in a bad dynamic the players have less confidence when trying to do things. We can benefit from that, but we also know we are facing a team with a lot of quality and they can turn it around at any time.”

Dani García has been one of Athletic’s most important players this season and will be expected to start once again at Balaídos. The Basques have won five of their last six visits to Vigo, including back in January which was the team’s first road win last season. Fans are hoping that lightning will strike twice.
