Yeray “I’m Not Entirely Satisfied With The Result”

Yeray believes Athletic could have secured all three points against Getafe (AC)

Athletic took an early 1-0 lead in Saturday’s match against Getafe, but saw their hosts equalize just 6 minutes later. Yeray was beaten to a low cross by striker Jaime Mata who put a shot between the legs of Unai Simón. The game would eventually end in a 1-1 draw and, despite surrendering the goal, the Lions performed well.

“I’m not entirely satisfied with the result, but I am with the team’s work”, Yeray told reporters after the game. Picking up a single point on the road against Getafe is a good result and the Lions must quickly shift their focus to the next game. “Now it’s time to think about the Derby” explained the defender. “We really want to enjoy it in The Cathedral and continue with our good run at home.”

Friday’s Derby will be yet another challenging game for Athletic. Real Sociedad added several talented players over the summer and will come into San Mamés with the goal of taking all three points against their rivals. Yeray has spent the last two games partnered with Unai Nuñez in defense, but Iñigo Martinez has been cleared from a muscle injury and could return to the lineup against his former club.
