Iñigo Vicente Reportedly Wants Mirandés Loan
Iñigo Vicente is arguably the most talented young player at Athletic but he will have to wait another year before having a place in the first team. Gaizka Garitano has already told the 21-year-old that he will be sent on loan this season in order to play regular minutes and there are no shortage of suitors. Several Segunda clubs have lined up in hopes of signing the starlet and Vicente has already made his choice.
Deportivo, Real Zaragoza, Real Oviedo, Extremadura, Numancia, and Mirandés have all submitted offers for the talented forward and there’s one that stands out above all the others. According to a report from Javier Ortiz de Lazcano of El Correo, Vicente has chosen to join Mirandés on loan for the upcoming season. The Lezama product wants to stay close to home, knows that Mirandés will offer consistent minutes, and is excited about the possibility of training under Athletic legend Andoni Iraola who was recently named manager.
The report goes on to state that an agreement could be reached very soon with both clubs having a great relationship and hoping to get the deal done quickly. If it does happen, Iraola will be the second club legend to coach Vicente after Joseba Etxeberria did so in 2016/2017 with CD Basconia. Iñigo Vicente is a very special player and leaving on loan will give him the motivation and opportunity to prove that he deserves a place at San Mamés next season.
