Beñat Prados Called Up To Spain U20 Team
Last year was full of ups and downs for Lezama’s Beñat Prados. After starting the season as the captain of Juvenil A, the midfielder broke his arm and was sidelined for quite a while. Upon returning, Prados continued to show why he’s such a promising young player and was promoted to CD Basconia where he featured in 23 matches and scored 3 goals.
This summer Prados is training with Bilbao Athletic where he hopes to earn a place in Joseba Etxeberria’s team, though he could return to Basconia if minutes will be scarce. However, he won’t get to spend the entire preseason at Lezama as the 18-year-old has been called up to Spain’s U20 team which will compete in the COTIF Tournament in Valencia from 30 July through 8 August.
Prados is strong on the ball, a great passer, and reads the game very well for his age. He’s capable of playing anywhere in the midfield and will have a chance to compete with other starlets while on international duty. Once he returns, Beñat Prados will continue to fight for his place at Bilbao Athletic.
