Tenerife Leading The Race To Sign Cristian Ganea On Loan
Cristian Ganea knows he won’t be playing at Athletic this season. Despite traveling with the team to train in Germany, the 26-year-old has already been told by manager Gaizka Garitano that he isn’t part of the plans and will be sent on loan. For now, Ganea must wait to learn where he will go and a new club is leading the race to sign the Romanian international.
Sporting were in talks to sign Ganea last week with reports suggesting that a deal could be announced before the team left for Germany. In the end, Sporting signed Damián Pérez and now have no need for Ganea. Other clubs have remained interested in the left-back, including Numancia where he played well on loan last year.
According to a report from Juanma Velasco of Marca, Tenerife are now leading the race to sign Ganea. Athletic will continue to field offers for the Romanian and could even announce his departure while the team is in Germany. Ganea has publically stated that he doesn’t want to leave on loan again, but it will be the best way for him to play regular minutes and try to prove that he deserves a place at San Mamés.
