Ander Capa “We Are Only Thinking About The Next Game And Winning”
Ander Capa returned to the lineup for Athletic after spending the past few weeks on the sidelines due to injury. The right-back played relatively well, but the Lions fell 1-0 to Real Valladolid and must now their three-point lead over 7th place with just two games left to be played. Naturally, the 27-year-old wasn’t happy about the result.
“We faced an opponent that was playing to not be relegated and we saw their motivation.”, said Capa. “In the first half we weren’t able to create any chances, then in the second half we dominated and had chances. It was a pity that the ball wouldn’t go in. It was a slip from us and if we beat Celta at home we’re fine. We are only thinking about the next game and winning, nothing else.”
Capa was also booked during the match which he wasn’t happy about. In fact, both teams were frustrated with referee Mateu Lahoz throughout the match and felt as though he stopped the game far too often which prevented either side from building a rhythm. “I’m not going to talk about the refereeing”, Capa answered when asked about it. “That isn’t my subject.” Athletic will host Celta Vigo at San Mamés this Sunday where a win is absolutely vital to their hopes of European qualification.
