Sevilla Join The Race To Sign Athletic Goalkeeper Alex Remiro
It’s only a matter of time before Alex Remiro leaves Athletic. After being unhappy with multiple renewal offers, the goalkeeper decided that he would no longer negotiate with the club. He’s made up his mind to leave San Mamés with his contract expiring in June. As expected, several clubs have shown interest in the 24-year-old who now has another big decision to make.
Real Sociedad, Monaco, Barcelona, Espanyol, Girona, and a few clubs from England have all at one point expressed their desire to sign the Lezama product. Now another has entered. According to a report from Javier Beltrán of AS, Sevilla have also identified the goalkeeper as a transfer target this summer.
Sevilla already boast two talented goalkeepers in Tomáš Vaclík and Juan Soriano, but sources believe that both will have offers from bigger clubs this summer. If one or both leave, Remiro could be a fantastic replacement for Sevilla who would be able to sign him for free. There continue to be rumors that Remiro has already agreed to terms with Real Sociedad, though other sources claim the 24-year-old is taking his time before choosing his next club.
