Aritz Aduriz Still Awaiting Medical Clearance To Return To Action
Aritz Aduriz’s recovery has gone well. The 38-year-old has been out of action since the middle of January but was finally able to return to training at Lezama two weeks ago. His return has brought excitement, though it doesn’t mean he will be back on the field immediately. The club and player are being cautious with the issue and this week will be decisive for the striker.
As part of his recovery, Aduriz has been meeting with knee specialist Volker Tarnow in San Sebastian. Tarnow world renowned for sports rehabilitation and also specializes in the psychological and physical demands for injured athletes. Over the past few months Dr. Tarnow has played a big role in Aduriz’s recovery and now he will once again.
Sometime this week Aduriz will be meeting with Dr. Tarnow again for an evaluation according to Ander Cotorro of Marca. During this appointment, it will be determined if the striker can increase his workload and whether or not it is safe for him to potentially get back on the field. At this point Aduriz has already been ruled out for Friday night’s match against Girona, but the hope is that he can make his return sometime in the month of April.
