Dani Vivian Reportedly Signs Contract Renewal With Athletic Club Through 2021
Since joining CD Basconia back in 2016, Dani Vivian has taken massives strides forward in his development every season. The center-back, who arrived from Santutxu where he was coached by none other than Ibai Gómez, immediately won the starting role at the feeder club. The following year he would make 4 appearances for Bilbao Athletic, splitting time with Basconia, and was actually called up to the first team for the last game of the season.
Vivian didn’t make his official debut, but he did participate in Athletic’s friendly against Santutxu at the end of the season. Over the summer he was promoted to Bilbao Athletic where he has established himself as one of the leaders in the team and a very exciting young player. This year the 19-year-old has featured in 26 games, scoring one goal, and has stood out as one of the best center-backs in the Segunda B.
Gaizka Garitano has called up the young defender to train with the first team on a few occasions and even gave him minutes alongside Yeray in Thursday’s friendly against Eibar at Lezama. The manager and club have identified Vivian as someone who could have a future in the first team and have rewarded him with a new contract.
According to an exclusive report from Javier Ortiz De Lazcano of El Correo, Dani Vivian has signed a contract renewal with Athletic through 2021. His release clause has also been increased to €30 million and he’s expected to be given the chance to train with the first team during the summer. Vivian has a bright future ahead and is ready to take the next step in his development
