Real Sociedad President Still Coy Over Interest In Athletic Club’s Alex Remiro
In four months Alex Remiro won’t be an Athletic player anymore. His contract is set to expire on 30 June and he has already told the club that he is not interested in a renewal. Where he plays next is the big question right now. Many sources believe that he has been in contact with Real Sociedad for several months now and some have even suggested that he’s already agreed to personal terms.
Whether or not that’s the case, Real Sociedad President Jokin Aperribay is remaining coy on the subject. He’s refused to talk about Remiro but was once again asked about the rumors during a regular press conference on Thursday. “Those are two different questions”, he stated when asked if La Real had been in contact with Remiro and if they were interested in signing the 23-year-old.
“We will see if he renews with Athletic and if he interests Real”, Aperribay continued. It’s a decision for the coaches and we will act when we must act. Currently we are focused on the season and Gero Rulli is our goalkeeper. He is doing magnificently. He is playing he best again and is the player he used to be once again. Moyá also continues to contribute what he contributes as a player and a person.”
Real Sociedad aren’t the only ones interested in signing the Lezama product this summer. The goalkeeper has attracted for interest from the likes of Barcelona, Monica, Huesca, and several others. Reports suggest that he has yet to make a decision about where he will play next, but it’s already clear that he won’t be staying at Athletic Club.
