Oihan Sancet Expected To Return From ACL Injury Before The End Of The Season
It hasn’t been the season that Oihan Sancet expected when he was called up to train with the first team over the summer. The 18-year-old was given a starting role for Bilbao Athletic to begin the season and was one of the best players on the field in the opening game against Tudelano. Sancet was headed for big things but it was all cut short when he suffered a torn ACL in the following match.
The Lezama product underwent successful knee surgery in early September and has been working very hard to recover and get back on the field as quickly as possible. The club has been careful not to rush the starlet, but his treatment has gone very well at every step. In December he was able to start doing individualized work and physical therapy at Lezama with trainers and has since surpassed the halfway point in the recovery process.
While the team practiced at Lezama on Monday Sancet was on the sidelines working with a trainer which has been the case for a few nows. With 5 months left in the season the expectation is that he will return to training with Bilbao Athletic and be able to get back on the field before the end of the campaign. His hard work is paying off and it won’t be long until Oihan Sancet is enjoying football once again.
