Fernando Llorente will almost certainly be leaving Tottenham this month, the only question is where will he go. The striker has barely featured for the English side who are hoping to get his wages off of their books and they have made it clear that they won’t stand in his way of leaving. Athletic have been weighing up whether or not to bring back the 33-year-old, but they aren’t the only ones interested.

According to reports in Spain, Valencia also have their eyes on Llorente. Los Che were looking at the striker over the summer, but a move never materialized. Valencia have struggled to score goals this season and believe that Llorente’s experience could improve their offense. Reports in England also claimed that Llorente had agreed to personal terms with Galatasaray but the Turkish giants are said to have shifted their focus to Hoffenheim’s Adam Szalai instead.

Whether or not Athletic will actually pursue Llorente remains to be seen. He has openly stated that he would like to return to the San Mamés, which President Aitor Elizegi said was the first step in a potential reunion. Sporting Director Rafa Alkorta and the rest of the sporting committee have already met with manager Gaizka Garitano to discuss the needs of the team and a decision should be made soon. In the meantime, Athletic are expected to contact Tottenham to find out their initial asking price for the 33-year-old striker.
