With the elections now over it’s important to understand who are now the members of the Athletic Club Board of Directors.

He and Andoni Ayarza, another former player who will serve as the Technical Secretary under Alkorta, have been putting together a plan for Lezama for years now. Former Athletic trainer Manu Delgado Meco will also act as an external advisor.
The remainder of Elizegi’s Board of Directors is quite diverse. There are those with experience in journalism such as Itziar Villamandos (who will be the director of communications) and Tomás Ondarra, who has written books on Bilbao; engineers and directors Óscar Beristain and Ricardo Hernani (who will head up the Sporting Committee); business executives Begoña Castaño, Iker Goñi, Óscar Arce, and Manu Mosteiro. Joana Martínez, a translator who co-founded Interwords, Jorge Gómez the CEO of TECMAN, and lawyer Goyo Arbizu make up the rest of the team.
Lastly, Elizegi announced that former Athletic Vice President Juan Carlos Ercoreca will serve as the President of Athletic’s Foundation with former player and coach Gontzal Suances serving as a Sporting Advisor. Elizegi has made it a priority to surround himself with those who have experience in different areas as well as those who have been inside Athletic.
