Oihan Sancet Continues To Work Hard To Return From ACL Injury
Oihan Sancet was one of the revelations of Lezama last year, leading the Juvenil A team to one of the best seasons in history. The midfielder impressed so much that he was called up to train with the first team over the summer and was officially promoted to Bilbao Athletic. Sancet was an immediate success with the reserve side and looked set to prove himself worthy of a senior debut, but his progress was cut short.
The 18-year-old suffered a knee injury on 1 September in a draw against Gimnástica and two days later tests confirmed that he had suffered a torn ACL. He underwent reconstructive surgery on 7 September and has been recovering ever since. This specific injury usually sidelines players anywhere from 6-9 months, but the Lezama product is determined to get back on the field as soon as possible.
Sancet recently posted a series of videos on his Instagram page, included below, which show him working out at the Zentrum Rehabilitation and Training Center in Pamplona. The midfielder can be seen doing a few drills that require pivoting and different knee movements which is a very positive sign for his recovery. It will still be some time before he is cleared to return to training, but for now Sancet looks like he is well on his way to making a full recovery.
