There is no denying the fact that Unai Vencedor is destined for big things. The talented midfielder showed his quality at a young age with Santutxu before moving to Athletic  last year where he was one of the stars of the Juvenil A team. This season the 17-year-old made the jump all the way to Bilbao Athletic where he has been one of the most important player and other clubs have understandably taken notice.

According to an exclusive report from Javier Ortiz De Lazcano of El Correo, an unnamed club from England are willing to pay Vencedor’s release clause in hopes of tempting the midfielder to leave Athletic. Due to the player’s exposure in the U23 Premier League International Cup the interest isn’t a surprise, but his age and small release clause could be cause for concern for the Basque giants.

Athletic certainly view Unai Vencedor as a very promising player who could one day be a star at the San Mamés. With that being the case in this situation the club will likely look to shield the 17-year-old by offering him a much improved contract with the chance to train with the first team. Vencedor is a truly special talent and has all of the potential and quality needed to become a  great footballer. Athletic has no intentions of losing one of the pearls of Lezama and will be expected to do everything possible to keep Vencedor at the club.
