Ander Capa Misses Training With Muscular Discomfort
The international break may be in full swing, but Athletic are hard at work preparing for their upcoming match against Eibar at Ipurua on 21 October. Eduardo Berizzo gave the players the day off on Sunday but training resumed on Monday, although the manager was not present due to his participation in the UEFA Continuing License Course. Former Eibar star Ander Capa is eagerly awaiting the clash with his former club, but is currently dealing with muscle issues.
Capa was forced to train apart from his teammates on Monday due to muscle discomfort and he ended up missing all of Tuesday’s session at Lezama as well. So far there has been no word on what the exact issue is and the club has yet to release any form of medical report, which could be taken as a good sign right now. Still, with the team having two weeks until their next match the hope is that Capa will be able to fully recover and be available for the trip to Ipurua.
Meanwhile, the coaching staff continues to be cautious with Aritz Aduriz. The striker has already dealt with two separate muscle injuries so far this season and the club does not want to overload the 37-year-old. As has been the case for a while now, Aduriz trained at a slower pace towards the end of Tuesday’s session and was also joined by Raúl García, Yuri Berchiche, Iker Muniain, Iñigo Maritnez, Dani García, Oscar De Marcos, Beñat, and Markel Susaeta.
