Athletic Club Set For A Busy Week Training In Holland
Every summer Athletic Club travels abroad to spend a week training in a different country and that will once again be the case under new manager Eduardo Berizzo. The Argentine will be taking the team to Holland where they will be away through 29 July and end the trip by participating in the Traditions Cup in Germany hosted by Duisburg. As has been the case so far this summer, it is going to be a busy and intense week.
The team will board the bus and head for the airport Monday morning at 8:30 and are scheduled to arrive at the Bloemenbeek Landhuise Hotel around 1:30pm. The team will then hold a training session that evening at 6:00pm. On Tuesday Berizzo will put his players through two training sessions at 10:00am and again at 7:00pm.
Athletic will only train once on Wednesday at 10:00am but will be playing in a scrimmage match against Eredevisie side, ADO Den Haag who finished seventh in their league table last season. This game will be held behind closed doors, meaning it will likely not be televised as it is only a training match and not an official friendly.
The intensity will pick back up on Thursday and Friday with the team training twice each day. Saturday the team will take a bus to Duisburg where they will be competing in the Traditions Cup hosted by MSV Duisburg. The competition will also feature Italian side Fiorentina as well as English club Fulham with the games being played at Schauinsland-Reisen Arena. Athletic will then return to Bilbao on Sunday ahead of the final stretch of the preseason.
