Athletic Set For Another Busy Week Of Preseason Training With Two Friendlies On The Schedule
The first week of preseason training is nearly over for Athletic Club. Eduardo Berizzo has put a heavy focus on conditioning and ball drills over the first few days, but towards the end of the week things have shifted. The coaching staff has begun working on implementing the system and the players seem to be picking up on things quickly. Training sessions have been intense, with four days of two practices, and things won’t be getting any lighter.
Athletic announced the schedule for next week and it is even busier. Monday will be the most relaxed day of the week, with only one training session. Tuesday and Wednesday will both feature a morning and evening practice, but Thursday will have a lot going on. The team will train at 10:00am followed by a press conference with Berizzo. Then, Athletic will play their first friendly of the summer at 6:00pm against Amorebieta.
The Lions will be back to training twice a day on Friday and Saturday before having another big day on Sunday. Berizzo’s team will train again at 10:00am, immediately followed by a friendly match at 11:30am against Barakaldo. The following day will begin Athletic’s training trip to Holland which is scheduled to run from 23 July through 29 July. While away, the Basques will also be competing in a tournament in Germany hosted by MSV Duisburg.
