Athletic Club Release New Away Kit For The Upcoming Season
Since New Balance took over as Athletic Club’s kit provider last summer, the general opinion among fans is that of contentment and excitement. So far the uniforms have looked good and the reaction to next season’s home shirt was full of positivity. Since then, Athleticzales have been waiting to see the away kit which was finally teased late on Thursday before officially being released in a video featuring on Friday. The video was really interesting as it featured new signing Ander Capa modeling the shirt and texting pictures to friend Dani García, who is also a new signing.
Next season’s away kit features an all blue pattern, with a strip down the center which is supposed to be reminiscent of the outside paneling of the San Mamés. It also features a red collar which is something that traditionally hasn’t been used on blue Athletic shirts. The socks and shorts will also be blue, while the back of the shirt will use white lettering which gives it a clean look.
Reaction among fans seem to be split. Some love the sharp look of the blue shirt, especially the strip down the middle, while others seem to find it a bit bland and too similar to other clubs that wear all blue kits. At the end of the day, the majority of fans will always prefer to see an away kit that is modeled after the Basque flag, but that did not happen this year. Still, New Balance has continued to produce clean and professional kits and the new shirts are now available for purchase on Athletic’s online store, which is also offering free personalization and shipping over the next few days.
