Muniain: I Am Very Happy To Be Able To Help My Teammates In The Remaining Games
Good news has finally struck Athletic Club when it was announced on Tuesday that Iker Muniain had been medically cleared to return to the pitch. The winger was arguably the team’s most dynamic player last year and not having him this season has truly hurt the squad. With the announcement came a video from Muniain who said that he is some excited to be back and that he wants to help the team in the remaining games this season.
“I am very happy to have overcome this stage of injury and be good again. I’m very happy to be able to be available for the coach and to be able to help my teammates in these remaining games. Fortunately everything has gone wonderfully. The sensations throughout the whole process couldn’t have been any better. I feel very good training and doing all of the different drills and exercises. I wish I could return all the love and all the warmth that the fans have given me. I am very grateful for it all.”
Fans seem divided on whether or not they want the 25-year-old to return to the field this season. Some worry about the possibility of re-injury, but others want him to be able to get back into football shape after a six month layoff. Regardless, Muniain seems determined to get back on the pitch as soon as possible and he has been outspoken about coming back quickly throughout his entire recovery process.
After the announcement was made, several players took to social media to congratulate and welcome back Muniain, namely Iñaki William and Unai Nuñez. Athletic will be back in action on Saturday when they will host Celta Vigo as they look to add three points in their pursuit of the seventh place spot in the La Liga table. The Lions are currently eight points off the mark with nine games remaining in the season.
