Athletic Will Play A Preseason Friendly Against Club Brugge In July

Athletic Club’s preseason schedule ha finally begun to take shape over the last few weeks. The Lions recently announced an eight-day trip to Switzerland where they will play three friendlies. In addition, they will travel to Ireland in early August for a match against Liverpool. The Basques needed to add more matches to fill out their calendar and one more has now been confirmed.

On Friday, Athletic officially announced that they will travel to Belgium on 21 July to take on Club Brugge at Jan Breeder Stadium. The game will take place at 19:00.

Originally, Athletic was supposed to take on Marseille in late July but the match was eventually scrapped. It was important for the Lions to find a competitive opponent to test themselves against before the first leg of their Europa League qualifier on 27 July. Club Brugge will serve as a great host and opponent, while this match will also be a great chance for their fans to witness an entertaining preseason clash.

10 July – Travel to Sion Switzerland

12 July – Servette FC vs Athletic Club

14 July – Drawing For The Europa League Qualifying Round

15 July – Sion FC vs Athletic Club

17 July – Fenerbahce vs Athletic Club

18 July – Return To Bilbao

21 July – Club Brugge vs Athletic Club

27 July – First Leg Of The Europa League Qualifier

5 August – Liverpool vs Athletic Club
