His strength in the box and positional awareness set him apart from others his age and he only continues to get better. Earlier this year he made his first team debut, but has since returned to Bilbao Athletic to play regular minutes. Now, he may be on the way out to join a Segunda side on loan.

According to a report Luis Romera of AS, Villalibre is close to joining Segunda side Numancia on loan for the remainder of the season.

Numancia is currently in the midst of a crisis with strikers Manu Del Moral and Jairo Morillas ruled out for the remainder of the year with injuries. According to the report, Sporting Director Cesar Palacios has already asked the league for permission to make an emergency signing and the club has been in contact with Athletic about bringing in Villalibre on loan for the final seven games of the season.

It makes sense that Numancia would want to strengthen their squad as soon as possible. The club is still trying to distance themselves from the relegation zone and currently hold a five point cushion over Almeria. In a recent interview, Numancia manager Jagoba Arrasate said that the club wants to sign Villalibre, but that is is out of their hands now. The club is currently waiting for the league to approve the move and Arrasate believes that the 19-year-old could join Numancia sometime next week. This move not only gives them another great striker option, but will also allow Villalibre to continue improving against stronger competition.
