Bilbao Athletic continue to make transfers for the upcoming season with the Cachorros looking add talent in hopes of fighting for promotion to the Segunda. So far, they have signed forwards Inigo Munoz and Ibai Rodriguez, while still keeping an eye on Eneko Jauregi and Asier Benito. On Tuesday, it was announced that there is yet another new name coming to Lezama.
According to a report from Inaki Ugalde of Mundo Deportvio, Bilbao Athletic have signed winger Gaizka Larrazabal to a 2-year contract which will begin when the current season comes to a close.
Gaizka is the son of Athletic legend, Aitor Larrazabal, who played at the San Mames for 14 years amassing nearly 450 matches for the Lions. In his day, Larrazabal was one of the best left-backs in La Liga, but his son is certainly more of an attacking player. So far this season the 19-year-old has scored three goals and has been developing at an incredible rate.
Larrazabal joins Bilbao Athletic from Zamudio where he was having a great season. Other clubs were keeping a close eye on the young winger, with Eibar having already made him an offer to join their club. In the end, the 19-year-old chose to keep his talents in the family and sign with Athletic Club. He will join his new teammates at Bilbao Athletic this summer and begin his journey at Lezama in hopes of one day making it the first team.
